Petite Friture

When the French company Petite Friture contacted us, we knew that if we decided to cooperate, the bar would be set very high. Their products are known not only among European designers.

They describe themselves as follows: “We create unique and sustainable collections. Each design is born from an intuitive and optimistic encounter between the editor, emerging and recognized designers, and demanding manufacturers.”

We like such challenges.

Challenges

We received complete documentation of armchairs based on technical drawings and descriptions. Before production, prototypes and a trial batch had to be made. The client provided standardization cards which significantly facilitated the design process and technology selection.

The biggest challenge was maintaining the repeatability of bent elements in serial production. The client also emphasized the high standard of finishing. The steel furniture was to be electrode galvanized and powder painted with dedicated paint.

The client also shared their expectations regarding packaging. The premium product was to be individually packed in plastic wrap, cardboard, and secured inside with styrofoam sheets.

Our Offer

Our French partner has accepted the terms of the offer in which we committed to producing 100 units of a trial batch within 8 weeks of prototype approval.

Production

After prototype approval, we proceeded with mass production.

To ensure our client’s comfort, we reported production progress at the end of each stage. After manufacturing the chair in black steel, it was sent for galvanic zinc plating and then for powder coating.

Everything took place according to a schedule agreed upon with all process partners. Timely execution of each phase contributed to maintaining the delivery deadline to France.

The final stages included quality control and packaging. The furniture was on its way – bon voyage!

At STALMIKA, we always eagerly await information on whether the delivered product met our partner’s expectations. We are open to any comments to learn from them. This time was no different. Despite best intentions, some pieces left the paint shop with minor flaws. Part of the trial batch had 3 mm dents from hooks used during painting, which is typical for standard painting technology. However, aiming to meet high standards, we accepted the challenge to eliminate this flaw.

STALMIKA takes responsibility for its products. That’s why we developed special frames that changed the painting technology, meeting quality expectations. The result was immediate.

The way STALMIKA handled the complaint contributed to strengthening the cooperation with the client. In the five years since the technology change, we haven’t recorded a single complaint. The execution time for each batch ranged from 6 to 8 weeks.
