Missions in Kongo

Why do we support this project?

First and foremost, because it genuinely saves human lives!

For several years, STALMIKA has been collaborating regularly with Sister Damiana, a compatriot and missionary in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In addition to her spiritual service, Sister Damiana worked as a nurse and midwife in a local hospital. As an electrician by education, Sister Damiana became known for independently installing an electrical system in the newly built maternity ward.

In 2021, the company undertook the task of employing a doctor for the facility in Kambamba. The decision to hire a doctor was made due to the staff shortages faced by the hospital and the lack of funds to independently pay for a specialist. Dr. Mitterand Ndjondo, who accepted the position, has performed over 120 operations and medical procedures since being hired. These included, among others: cesarean sections, appendectomies, ovarian cyst removals, myomectomies, and more. In 2023, another specialist undertook work at the hospital in Kambamba. Thanks to the doctor’s work, many children could and can be born in safe conditions and under the watchful eye of their “Guardian Angels.”
